The T25 schedule has been taking the workout community by storm. We will take a deep dive as to what the T25 workout entails.
WebMd
WebMd gives some background as to how the T25 workout plan works.
An Introduction to The T25 Program
The T25 program is good for people who want to go in a new direction and have been exercising for some time.
It will be difficult to keep up when getting started. Check with a physician if you have any health concerns.
The T25 can also be helpful if you are already on some sort of aerobic program, as this can give you an intense workout over the course of 25 minutes.
You burn more energy with more muscle you have. It also lowers your blood sugar. Again, it’s best to consult with a physician.
Don’t dive into an intense workout if you have been diagnosed with heart disease. Consult with your doctor on the best option, which might be some sort of rehab program.
Your joints are also in danger of loosening up, raising your risk for injury. There are of course other aerobics exercises that are safer.
How Does It Work?
The Focus T25 was created by Shaun T who also developed the Insanity series. The T25 program is made to workout the entire body, just like his Insanity program and the P90X program.
This program, however, gives you all the benefits in just 25 minutes. The Focus T25 program offers 10 different workouts. You begin with the Alpha phase, which has five workouts.
- Abs
- Cardio
- Total body
- Lower focus
- Speed 1
This is how the first phase essentially works:
One workout per day for four days, two workouts on the fifth day. Skip a day then stretch on the seventh day.
When you get into the fifth week, you go to the Beta phase which is more intense. This is what’s involved in these workouts which also last 25 minutes:
- Dynamic Core
- Upper Focus
- Core cardio
- Speed 2
- Ripped Circuit
You focus on one area at a time with each video.
There is also another optional phase known as Gamma. It has four DVDs. This phase has a diet that they recommend which they say will help you lose weight sooner.
Focus T25 Is Very Intense
Focus T25 is very intense that keeps going for an entire 25 minutes that goes after all the major muscle groups. There are also no breaks.

What Else You Should Know
The Focus T25 DVD set currently goes for $72.80 and $36.80 for the Gamma DVD set on Amazon.
It’s good for beginners, but you should focus on your own workout rather than keeping up with the DVD. Furthermore, it is meant to be done indoors.
From Dr. Melinda Ratini
Ratini notes that Focus T25 is a great program, especially if you want a program that can workout all the major muscle groups. The best part is it that just takes 25 minutes each day.
The thing about the T25 program is its intensity. You can’t go into this program thinking it’s going to help you out right away if you’ve been sedentary for a long time.
If you have been, it would be a great thing to start a more moderate program first before moving on to this.
Naturally, like with any intense workouts, the Focus T25 can lead to injury
Lifestyle Updated
A number of people, both men and women offers their experiences trying of the T25 workout on Lifestyle Updated. Also below is a comparison with other workouts, including the popular Insanity program.
Focus T25 Workouts – Alpha
This is what we think of each phase.
Cardio Workout
The cardio in this phase begins slow and then steadily builds up. The focus is on your lower body, working your quads and calves.
It also works your lower abs. While not very complicated, the moves will still work you very hard.
Ab Workout
The ab workout in the T25 Alpha is excellent and will likely leave your abdomen very sore i for several days after your first try.
The ab exercises are combined with cardio-centric exercises. This ends up burning a great amount of fat in that area and helps burn better muscle. The exercise also works your abs.
Lower Focus Workout
This segment of course works your lower body, predominantly your thighs, and is more difficult than the above two exercises.
Speed 1.0 Workout
The Speed 1.0 portion of the workout is likely the first part that focuses more on quickness and athleticism.
The amount of focus on your legs helps improve balance, speed and agility.
Total Body Circuit Workout
Like The Insanity Asylum program, this portion entails circuit progression.
There are some more involved movements, like plank walks and shoulder tap push-ups as well as jumping into a squatting position. There are also spider lunges which works your obliques.
Focus T25 – Beta Phase Review
The Alpha phase does a good job for not only serving as a foundation for what is to come, but also serves to change one’s lifestyle.
The Beta portion helps push oneself harder for the 25 minutes allotted.
Focus T25 Beta Phase Review – Workouts
The beta workouts, unlike their alpha counterparts, focus on strengthening your core.
You can feel the difference in dynamic core, which has significantly more ab constructions than in in the alpha phase.
Moreover, the speed video gives you more work in your leg and is a lot faster.
The core cardio video also delves into strength training. If you follow the program right, you can improve your balance, coordination and control over your entire body.
Focus T25 Beta Phase Review – Workouts (Continued)
As you progress into the Beta phase, the warm-ups also become harder. This allows you to get into the harder part of the actual workout much easier.
